Former EMI Exec Syd Schwartz Opens Linchpin Digital Music Consultancy

Initial clients include Dympol, his former employers EMI Music and Wind-Up Records, Red Light Management and Umphrey’s McGee

“Linchpin’s focus is in creating business opportunities and marketing strategies around the relationship between fans and entertainment properties,” said Schwartz. “Linchpin works with brands, artists and creators to craft campaigns that deliver significant promotional and commercial upside."

Linchpin also works with Red Light Management, the music management company and with some of Red Light’s artists, who include Dave Matthews Band and Phish.  He is also working with start-up Dympol, which delivers brand-sponsored music discounts to the users of e-commerce and content discovery partners and indie jam rockers Umphrey’s McGee for whom Linchpin is creating a long-term marketing strategy that expands upon their innovative pre-order campaigns and interactive live events.
