Major Labels Fail To Force Three Strikes On Ireland
The major labels have failed to get USP, a broadband provider in Ireland, to adopt a “three strikes” strategy to combat online file-sharing. The Irish High Court ruled that the ISP has no legal obligation to implement the tactic. This decision supports the notion that ISP's aren’t liable for the actions of their users. USP said that it doesn’t condone infringement and would keep working with the music industry on the piracy issue.
