Using Music (And Fun) to Modify Consumer Behavior
We all know that taking the stairs is in our better interest, yet we're drawn to the escalator. So how do you convince patrons to opt for the stairs instead? According to The Fun Theory, a Volkswagen-sponsored effort, all you need to add is a little music and lots of fun. In Sweden subway, the group installed piano-key musical steps dramatically increased use (66%) of the stairs.
